We love having volunteers in our Club sites! Your presence brings in fresh faces, ideas, talents, and expertise.
Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. All volunteers will be required to complete a volunteer application, meet with staff to determine the best use of their skills, and submit a background check and be fingerprinted (paid for by Boys & Girls Club) before beginning if they will be working with children.
CURRENT NEEDS: Volunteer Assistants Volunteers are needed to assist our Site Directors on a day to day basis in our various locations. Volunteers should have a desire to work with elementary and/or middle school youth, have good leadership skills, and the ability to work independently. You will work alongside the site directors to help keep our kids engaged and safe. Our Club sites provide programs in the following five core areas: Character, Leadership and Development; Education and Career Development; Health and Life Skills; The Arts; Sports, Fitness and Recreation. Your experience in one or more of these area could help our Site Directors provide additional programs and activities to the members as well.
Homework Helpers/Tutors Volunteers will assist students on an individual basis with specific subject matters including math, English, science, and social studies. Volunteers should have knowledge of middle school level curriculum and how to interact with youth. Must be patient and reliable. This is a more consistent need and volunteers should be able to commit to a minimum of one hour per week for a minimum of 3 months. Hours will be determined on an individual basis between volunteers and youth.
Free Play Monitors Volunteers will be responsible for monitoring free outdoor play time during Boys & Girls Club hours. Volunteers will make sure rules are being followed, maintain a positive attitude and interact with members as necessary/appropriate, and communicate with Site Directors regarding free play activities and member situations.
