We are seeking a Director of Development to support the growing program initiatives that support our local youth. BGCFC is an established chartered member of Boys & Girls Club of America which brings a tremendous history of making a difference in children’s lives all across America and right here in Frederick County!
As Director of Development you will work collaboratively with a Board of Directors and the CEO to provide leadership and direction for the effective operation of all development activities. You will secure resources for standard operations and pursue additional funding opportunities to promote local programs. As the organizational voice, you will foster community relationships with key stakeholders to secure individual, community and corporate contributions. Your responsibilities:
Develop long-term donor relationships and perform appropriate “asks”
Maintain, research and analyze existing donor base then make recommendations for strategic development
Prepare and present approved proposals
Grant management and cultivation
Have an active role in budget planning, monitoring and controls
Oversee logistics for special events, marketing campaigns and collateral materials
Design and implement direct mail and social media outreach, manage public relations
Support fund raising projects and initiatives such as endowments, major gifts and planned giving
Recruit, train and support Board members and committee initiatives
The ideal candidate will possess:
3+ years of nonprofit fundraising or sales and marketing experience (Youth Development program experience preferred)
Working knowledge of fundraising techniques and sources for nonprofit organizations
Excellent community networking skills and experience
Proficiency with a donor database platform
Ability to collaborate with and motivate Board members, volunteers and peers
Salary range of $50K -$57K and includes a competitive benefits package.
Site Director Site Directors are responsible for overseeing the planning, development, implementation, evaluation, grant reporting and management of daily after school programs at a specific location, which include a broad range of programs in the areas of Character and Leadership Development, Education and Career Development, Health & Life skills, the Arts, Sports, Fitness and Recreation, Technology, and Socializing. Site Directors will be required to provide leadership and supervision, plan, develop, oversee and implement programs for members, program staff and volunteers. They are expected to prepare, manage and control grant program budget, supplies and financial reporting. Site Directors, are required to provide support with recruitment of members, staff and volunteers. Will require a strong working knowledge of computers including internet usage, Microsoft Office and Access programs.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Demonstrate ability to take initiative, interact with others effectively, including staff and project management.
Strong group leadership and team building skills, including an understanding of group dynamics.
Required decision making delegating, organizational, budget, expense and financial skills.
Preferred four year degree from an accredited college, university, or equivalent experience or two year degree with related field experience in youth development.
Preferred minimum of five years work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization, planning and supervising activities based on the development needs of young people.
Mandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications (provided with employment).
Valid Driver’s License and good driving record.
Undergo Criminal Background Investigation and Fingerprinting.

Program Assistant Program Assistants plans, implements, supervises and evaluates activities provided within a specific program area, to include Character and Leadership Development, Education and Career Development, Health & Life skills, the Arts, Sports, Fitness and Recreation, and Technology. They are responsible for member discipline, daily program support, positive role modeling and development of positive adult relationships with Club members and their families. Program Assistants aids with homework help, lead social skill groups and recreational activities. 2-5 days per week (up to 3 hours per day).
